Two Wolves Legend

An elderly man was teaching his grandson about life.

He said to him, “A fight is going on inside of me, it’s a terrible fight between two wolves.

One wolf is evil. He is fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, guilt, resentment, inferiority, competition, superiority, and ego.

The other is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.

This same fight is going on inside you, and inside every other person too.”

The child then asked, “Which wolf will win?”

The old man simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Note: I did some research into the origins of this legend. There is some debate about it originated but most credit it as a Cherokee Indian legend.
